Needed to have a picture today

The weekend is upon us, marking the end of two weeks without Lucy.  This is also the end of the second week of being in isolation / seclusion, quarantine – whatever you want to call it.   It doesn’t get much easier.  It doesn’t help that the coronavirus scare is happening at the same time.

Not much to do from home but work outside or in some other way on the house.  So that’s what I was doing earlier today – right outside the windows in the picture above. The photo was taken in June of 2017 – so almost 3 years ago.  Lucy looked so good, healthy in every way.  Lexi looked great, too!  She still does.   We miss our Goose so much.  We are, of course, spending more time with our other dogs.  Yesterday, we took them out on a walk in Sedro Wooley, at the old mental hospital there.  It was a place that we took all the dogs when Lucy was still with us.  We are working on making the others cope with Lucy’s absence from their lives, too.

Here, the girls are watching a deer transit our lower yard from the dining room window – one of their favorite pastimes.  This photo was taken in April 2017.  You’ll likely notice that “watching” was one of Lucy’s favorite things to do.  I guess that is the guard dog / Shar Pei in her.  She loved nothing more than watching the neighborhood out of a window.  A good view was something she appreciated.
